but that single bouts of exercise are not lowering them:

BUT....there is hope, 4 seconds at a time:

The REAL LESSON HERE...the benefits of exercise come from intensity, NOT duration. The more you can get your heart rate to fluctuate, the longer you'll burn fat after you stop exerising. That is why H.I.I.T. training (High-Intensity Interval Training) has become so popular.

The harder your exerise, the less time you have to spend exercising!
